This sort of straightforward reading book is actually something of a rarity in Storey Publishing’s list, which consists more of how-to, craft, and gardening books. I was asked to take on the project, in part, because of my personal interest in the subject and in creating fine books.
It didn’t hurt at all to have the handsome drawings of nature artist Julie Zickefoose. They combined nicely with the Dante typeface and the warm stock to create an elegant package, one which really must be held in the hand to be fully appreciated.
