Jake & Rocket

Jake and Rocket are Griffons. Their owner wanted formal, oldstyle portraits with costumes and inscriptions that identified them and expressed a bit of their personalities. "Sir" Jake is a dignified fellow, while Rocket (portrayed in a Jester's costume) is something of a clown in real life.
